Tool Stewardship introduces students to the principles of selecting, using, maintaining, and caring for tools in a safe and effective manner. This microcredential is designed for individuals who want to become more self-sufficient, capable, and confident when working on projects at home, in workshops, on homesteads, or within their communities.
Students will explore the history and purpose of essential tools, proper maintenance practices, safety protocols, and organizational systems that extend tool life and improve efficiency. By learning to care for the tools that support everyday life, participants develop skills that contribute to greater independence and long-term resource stewardship.
